Commissioners grant fee waiver for Idaho Food Bank Thanksgiving distribution

Bannock County commissioners approved a reduced facility fee for the Idaho Food Bank to hold its annual Thanksgiving food distribution in the county parking lot.
Kia Shaw, operations manager for the Idaho Food Bank, described the event as a recurring distribution that has run in the county for several years and serves more than 1,000 households. "We have done this up there specifically for oh, I think this is nine years now," Shaw said. She said the event typically uses between 150 and 250 volunteers and completes distribution in less than four and a half hours.
County staff and commissioners said past events had proceeded without issues. Commissioner Jeff Hoff moved to approve the fee waiver as requested; commissioners voted "aye."
