He and staff discussed design choices (parking surface options), neighborhood concerns about on-street parking in adjacent residential areas, and opportunities to add low-cost amenities such as disc golf and unimproved trail connections in later phases. Martinez noted a revegetation allowance and landscaping line items in the OPCC; staff explained that some existing trees could be preserved as specimen trees while site clearing and grading would be necessary in construction zones.
Staff and council discussed the privately owned pond adjacent to part of the property; Martinez said the pond is currently owned and maintained by a homeowners association and is not included in park ownership or maintenance unless a future agreement is reached.
