Board member Mr. Hampton identified a missing word in item 10, which should read "prepare necessary documentation, including maps." The board agreed that the document is a governance instrument that assigns duties to the director and noted that all board members must sign the document. "This is our governance document," Hampton said, arguing it required separate discussion and signatures.
Paula Saemstra, Director of Elections, confirmed the document is the same one approved in 2023. The board moved and seconded approval with the insertion of the missing word, then approved the document by voice vote.
Board members also requested earlier circulation of draft agendas going forward; staff agreed to provide the packet to members the Monday before the Thursday public posting going forward. The approved delegation will be submitted to the State Board of Elections as required.
