Garfield County commissioners approve truck leases, motor grader lease renewal and appropriations

At its July 28, 2025 meeting, the Board of Garfield County Commissioners approved a series of procurement and financial items, including lease-purchase agreements for three 2026 Mack trucks, a lease renewal for a motor grader, deeds from a Commissioner’s Sale and cash fund appropriations.
Commissioner Joe Kegin Jr. moved to approve and sign three Lease Purchase Agreements with Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment for three 2026 Mack trucks for District 3. Each truck’s lease-purchase price is listed as $122,176.08; the minutes list VIN numbers 9401, 9403 and 9404. The motion passed unanimously (Aye: Clarence Maly, Reese Wedel and Joe Kegin Jr.).
The board also approved and signed Resolution #25-95 renewing Lease #26013-400 from Anchor Bank for a John Deere 627G motor grader (VIN #0571). The resolution records the lease period as July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. That motion carried with unanimous support.
The commissioners approved and signed two deeds and a transcript from the Commissioner’s Sale held July 22, 2025. They approved Cash Fund Estimate of Needs and Request for Appropriation for the Rural Fire – Sales Tax fund in the amount of $29,670.00 and for Highway Unrestricted in the amount of $94.00.
A public solicitation for Bid #26-1 (½ Rock Chips for District #1) received no bids. The board examined and approved multiple prior-year and current-year warrants and claims, including a capital outlay payment to Henson Construction Co. for $127,041.00 from American Rescue Plan Act funds; the minutes list a large number of other warrants across general, highway and department funds.
The board authorized signing blanket purchase orders as filed in the County Clerk’s Office and signed a blanket purchase order that exceeded the encumbered amount (PO #4321 — Cops Products — $300.03); the minutes list the PO as exceeding the previously encumbered amount and the board signed it. The County Clerk, Lorraine Legere, reported that temporary employee insurance cards for the OPEH&W Health Insurance Plan were being emailed in groups; the clerk’s office printed and began distributing cards for one group of 25 employees. No further action was taken on the insurance matter.
All recorded motions in the minutes passed with votes recorded as Aye: Clarence Maly, Reese Wedel and Joe Kegin Jr.; no nays were recorded.
