At the Sept. 2 meeting Delaware County commissioners approved the county's recommendation to appoint Lanetta Lee to a commissioner's seat on the County Health Board.
Jamie Bain, county health department administrator, told the commission Lee previously worked for the county health department for more than 13 years in environmental health and now manages training for food service operations; she currently works at Ball State and previously worked at Ivy Tech. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the appointment by roll call.
Commissioners also noted vacancies remain on the Civic Center Authority and the Fair Board. Fair Board leadership said two seats are open and that some candidates have expressed interest but were still being vetted. Commissioners said the Civic Center Authority still lacks a nomination to fill a third seat and that the mayor's recommended appointment for the city's executive slot remains outstanding.
The county asked the clerk to prepare appointment letters and to continue vetting candidates for the remaining seats.
