Board names appointees to multiple advisory boards; vacancies remain

The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners approved a series of appointments on Aug. 26 to fill vacancies on county advisory boards.
Emily Shreeves, constituent services specialist, presented staff recommendations and the board approved the following actions by voice vote:
- Nathan Novotny appointed as an alternate member to the Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board (after which no vacancies remain for that board, staff said). - Reappointments to the Commission on Aging: Christine Flattery, Terry Long, Anne Weems and Harriet Gaeth, and appointment of Julia Hines Williams; staff said four vacancies would remain after these actions. - Appointments to the Calvert County Commission for Women: Oxana Parsons and Sarah Shields; staff said three vacancies would remain. - Appointment of James Carr to the Calvert County Marine Museum Board of Governors (two vacancies remain after the appointment). - Reappointment of Michael Rooney to the Calvert County Environmental Commission (three vacancies remain after the appointment).
Shreeves told commissioners the county continues to have openings on multiple boards and urged residents with interest or specialized skills to apply through the county website.
All five appointment motions were moved, seconded and approved on the consent of the board; the public record shows voice votes with no roll‑call tallies recorded in the meeting transcript.
