The Schererville Town Council and its boards recorded several routine and policy votes during the Aug. 13 meeting. Below are the formal actions taken and recorded vote outcomes.

- Waterworks, Stormwater, Redevelopment and Utilities boards: Minutes of the 07/09/2025 public meetings and claims for each board were moved, seconded and approved by the respective boards as part of their consent agendas (Waterworks minutes 3–0; Waterworks claims 3–0; Stormwater minutes 3–0; Stormwater claims 3–0; Redevelopment minutes 5–0; Redevelopment claims 5–0; Utilities minutes 5–0; Utilities claims 5–0).
- Town Council minutes (07/09/2025) and council claims: Approved 5–0.
- Ordinance 2028 (amending the wholesale water tracker component of rates and charges): Legal counsel reported a publication irregularity (one newspaper notice ran 9 days instead of 10) and recommended waiving the irregularity. The council waived the irregularity and adopted Ordinance 2028 by voice vote (5–0). The ordinance will be published with a notice of adoption.
- Resolution 20‑25‑8 (transfer funds within appropriation categories): Approved 5–0. Staff said transfers were to prevent departmental line items from becoming negative.
- Resolution 20‑25‑9 (opposing proposed closure of the Schererville BMV branch): Approved 5–0. Council noted a state Bureau of Motor Vehicles hearing to be held in council chambers the following evening and authorized sending the opposing resolution.
- Agreement with Lake County Parks (participation in purchase of property at SE corner of Austin and Seaburger): Approved 5–0; the town’s previously discussed participation amount is $50,000.
- Acceptance of donations and in‑kind contributions: Council accepted monetary and in‑kind donations totaling $6,245.41 for multiple town funds and events (town hall, animal control, dog park, veterans memorial, police, national night out); motion carried 5–0.

Several items were forwarded for additional staff follow‑up, including campus/site planning for the proposed veterans museum (no formal land conveyance vote taken) and bid preparation steps required for the fire station if and when construction funding is identified.
