Board adopts Randolph County Agricultural Center facility-use guide and internal partners policy

Randolph County commissioners on Aug. 4 approved a facility-use guide and an internal partners policy for the new Randolph County Agricultural Center.
Taylor Wright, agricultural center coordinator, said the guide lists base rental rates (not including setup fees, equipment add-ons or security deposits), clarifies a certificate-of-insurance requirement, and explains that additional charges (tables, chairs, panel setups) will be customized per event. Wright said rate comparisons were made with other civic/agricultural centers such as Union County and a nearby exhibit hall and that rates are a starting point for county bookings.
The internal partners policy designates the Randolph County Extension Community Association, Randolph County 4-H, the Randolph County Livestock Association, the Randolph County Beekeepers Association and the Randolph County FFA as eligible for facility use at no cost; Randolph County departments are permitted no-cost use for trainings and county business.
The board adopted the guide and policy. Commissioners asked staff to review case-by-case requests for exceptions (for example, certain food-service or catering arrangements), to finalize software and panel-arrangement details, and to ensure that health and safety regulations for food and events are followed.
Wright said concealed weapons are not permitted inside county buildings and that additional security requirements may be imposed for larger events.
