Provo shows Wasatch Elementary safe‑routes video and lists new crosswalks, racks and playground protections

Staff said work completed around the new school includes at least 13 new crosswalks (various treatments), more than 14 bike and scooter racks, extended sidewalks, and a concrete barrier installed at the bottom of a steep hill to protect the playground from vehicles. Committee members described coordinated education efforts for students (classroom and route instruction) and said the city and school district collaborated on the routing and infrastructure.
The video was described as an educational tool for students, not a broader public campaign, and TMAC members praised the work and the outreach. The update was informational and no TMAC action was taken.
