The San Francisco Port Commission adopted two consent resolutions on Jan. 14, 2025, including Resolution 2502 to accept and expend a $55,386,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support a waterfront zero-emission ferry system.
The motion to adopt the consent calendar also included Resolution 2501 to modify construction contract 2788R (Hyde Street Harbor Repairs) retroactively to extend the substantial completion date and increase the not-to-exceed contract amount. Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt both resolutions.
The EPA grant will fund the Waterfront Emissions Free Ferry System Project, a multi-part program the Port and partner agencies are pursuing to electrify high-speed ferry service. The grant was mentioned during public comment by Ellen Jonk of the Maritime Commerce Advisory Committee, who thanked Port staff for helping secure the award.
No public commenters opposed the consent items; Port staff will execute grant agreements and contract amendments as authorized by the resolutions.
