Lynn Esterick (EPRAWT) provided a capital improvement program update and highlighted two projects: the Parking and Landside West Garage and the West Gate expansion.
Esterick said the contractor outreach to attract subcontractors produced high participation: virtual sessions on Nov. 7 and Dec. 4 drew 108 and 148 attendees respectively, and in‑person sessions drew 83 and 76 attendees — "a total of over 450 people attending the outreach for subcontractors for this project," she said. She reported the project is on schedule, 60% drawings have been received and are under review.
On the West Gate expansion, Esterick reported the moon tower has been craned into place and roof trusses are being installed; she noted travelers who flew during the holidays may already have observed the visible steel and truss work. Commissioners asked about cost escalation and guaranteed maximum prices (GMPs). Esterick said the team is controlling costs through tight design decisions, prioritizing essential scope, contingencies coordinated with finance and broad subcontractor outreach to increase competition and bidding options.
The commission thanked staff and moved on to the action items.
