East Ridge City Council on Jan. 9 approved five resolutions covering a parks-and-rec uniform contract, a utility easement across city-owned property, renewal of legislative counsel services, ratification of an emergency water-line repair, and a planning commission appointment.

The council approved resolution 3636 to award the 2025 spring/summer uniforms contract for Parks and Recreation to Crown USA at $24,230, after staff said Crown met bid specifications and returned a lower price than rival BSN Sports ($41,202.50). Vice Mayor Tyler moved to approve; Council Member Witt seconded. Roll call was recorded as: Vice Mayor Tyler — Yes; Council Member Cagle — Yes; Council Member Ezell — Yes; Council Member Witt — Yes; Mayor Williams — Yes. Resolution 3636 passed unanimously.

The council approved resolution 3637, authorizing a 40-foot utility easement across city-owned property at 1623 Springvale Road to enable utility service to an unaddressed parcel to the west. Staff said the city purchased the parcel with Community Development Block Grant funds for flood-hazard mitigation and that the property is intended to remain undeveloped except for limited uses that do not impair its primary hazard-mitigation function.
