Facilities staff propose $1.9 million in Fund 41 capital maintenance projects for FY25–26

Director of Facilities and Technology Tim Harder presented the district—Y25–26 capital maintenance recommendations, emphasizing preventative maintenance, energy-efficiency projects and in-house work to stretch available funds.

The proposed Fund 41 list (approximately $1.9 million; a 4% increase from the prior plan) includes: roofing replacements and repairs (including sections at Silverbrook and the high school), masonry and tuckpointing at Green Tree, concrete and site repairs, security-system backend/server renewal and additional cameras, physical-security measures (bollards/fencing/security film), interior painting and flooring repairs (including main-entry walk-offs), replacement of gym curtain dividers, HVAC hardware and controls upgrades, duct cleaning, domestic water line and fixture work in key buildings, cafeteria lighting/ceiling grid and sound-system upgrades, and auditorium fly-system inspection/maintenance and lighting/sound upgrades. Harder noted coordination with referendum timelines would shift some projects and that the district seeks Focus on Energy rebates where eligible.

Harder said the facilities department is increasing the amount of work done in house, using a facilities-management system (Archibus) to track condition assessments and prioritize projects. Board members asked about snow-removal damage and scheduling coordination to capture economies of scale with referendum contractors; Harder said in-house crews handle most snow removal and the district will coordinate timing to avoid redundant work. The board directed staff to place the capital plan on the forthcoming consent agenda unless a member requests separate consideration.
