Greg Cuyo Park nears completion; city to install large kiosks and maps for 2.8 miles of trails

Senior Park Planner Jenny Wilson said construction at Greg Cuyo Park is progressing and staff hopes to open the park by year end pending final items.
Staff described a nature-themed playground, a large shelter with 12 picnic tables and two oversized metal kiosks that will include trail maps, QR codes and branding consistent with the city's trail system. Recreation staff and planners recorded the park trail network with GPS; Carter Gibson told the board the printed kiosks will show trail surfacing (paved loop, crushed rock, mulch), suggested loop distances and a separate disc-golf course routing.
The map package identifies 2.8 miles of walkable trails (not including disc-golf lines), including approximately two miles of crushed-rock trails, a half-mile of mulch trail and a paved loop. Staff said the kiosks will include a QR code linking to an online map for mobile navigation.
Jenny Wilson said Hawks Prairie Rotary provided a $3,000 sponsorship to cover kiosk printing costs. Staff asked board members to attend a brief ribbon-cutting once the park opening date is set; a small ceremony is under consideration.
