Board holds first reading of biannual master fee schedule update; second reading set for Nov. 18

Michael Powers, assistant county administrative officer, presented the biannual master fee schedule update and introduced ordinance number 5.2.0.25 as the next step in the review process.
Powers said departments reviewed a total of 971 fees across the county: 306 proposed fee increases (about 32% of those reviewed), 30 new fees, 18 deletions, 16 decreases and 36 title changes. Departments with the most updates included health, community development, sheriff, assessor, fire and elections. The county estimates the proposed updates would reduce unreimbursed costs by approximately $530,000 and improve cost recovery.
A public hearing was held; no written correspondence or speakers were recorded. The board introduced the ordinance on first reading and scheduled a second reading and adoption for Nov. 18, 2025. Supervisor Rusty Robinson moved to introduce the ordinance; Supervisor Robert Thayer seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote 4–0 with one member absent.
