Board authorizes THP and HNMP allocations totaling $215,249 for housing supports for 18–24 year olds

Christopher Norris, deputy director for the Adults Division of Kings County Human Services Agency, asked the board to adopt a resolution authorizing application for and acceptance of THP round 7 and HNMP round 4 allocations.
Norris explained both allocations were created pursuant to the Budget Act of 2025 and are intended to assist young adults ages 18 to 24, with priority given to young adults in foster care and probation. He said the county plans to administer the funds through HSA’s community support services unit and the THP‑Plus program, which provides subsidies and services to eligible youth. The THP allocation is $133,227 and the HNMP allocation is $82,022.
Supervisor Rusty Robinson moved adoption of the resolution; Supervisor Joe Neves seconded. The clerk called the roll: Joe Neves, Doug Verboom, Rusty Robinson and Robert Thayer voted yes. The motion passed 4–0 with one member absent.
