The Granite County Commission discussed a request to support the solid-waste district in acquiring replacement equipment. Commissioners and staff reviewed options including a surplus search, purchasing used equipment and an interfund loan using PILT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) funds.
Staff said an interfund loan could be structured with repayments over multiple years and that the commission could set repayment terms and interest, if any, during the budget process. Commissioners asked staff to prepare a decision item for the Nov. 18 meeting so the commission can review loan terms and any proposed resolution.
No formal loan or transfer was approved at the Nov. 4 meeting. Commissioners requested that staff prepare draft resolution language and schedule the matter for decision at the Nov. 18 meeting.
