The Granite County Commission voted Nov. 4 to declare a 2013 patrol vehicle surplus and to set a minimum bid of $1,500 for auction. Commissioners discussed the vehicle's condition, noting battery and minor electrical issues, and said they would list the vehicle as-is with a reduced starting price.
A commissioner moved to set a $1,500 minimum bid; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The commission also noted other surplus items, including a chainsaw and generator, which may be retained for search-and-rescue use or included in a future county surplus sale.
Staff said additional surplus vehicles (a Mercedes and an Avalanche) may be added to the next month's surplus sale. The commission instructed staff to proceed with the surplus declaration and auction preparations and to return with sale details at a future meeting.
