He said one bid — from a vendor the district has used previously through Sourcewell — and a second bid (Cunningham Recreation/GameTime) are close in price. Anderson described differences in footprint and component design and noted the district has $120,000 budgeted in its capital plan. He said the Cunningham/GameTime package included a vendor-provided grant that would reduce the equipment cost by $58,000 off an original quote "around $219,000," bringing the net price closer to the district's current quotes.
Trustees asked whether the equipment is reusable if moved later; Anderson said components can be reused but reinstallation requires care. Board members asked for input from Edith Sherman staff and special-education teachers; one trustee requested the district gather faculty feedback and circulate it to the board before the next meeting. Anderson said he would obtain staff feedback and distribute it before the board's next meeting.
No final purchase motion was taken. Board members discussed consistency across sites and the potential difficulty of matching grant-supported equipment at other campuses if the board opts for the higher-priced package.
