City staff told the council the parcel lies directly south of City Hall and includes an existing storage facility that can meet the police department’s longer‑term needs for evidence and larger‑vehicle storage — the use was described as a more cost‑effective option than building new storage. City Manager Adam Brown told the council the property also holds strategic value to the city for future uses beyond evidence storage.
Council President Shaney Starr moved adoption of R2025 and the motion passed without recorded opposition. Staff will proceed with acquisition steps authorized under the resolution.
