Leander staff report progress on Rader Way, Baghdad Road, Collaborative Way and water-line repair

City staff provided multiple project updates in the regular meeting's staff-report section.

CIP Program Manager Bettis reported Rader Way and Eastwood View Drive (CIP T-12) are nearing completion. Temporary striping is in place, the Nolan Ranch intersection is complete, irrigation work is about 75% done and contractor crews still need to place final surface asphalt (top course) and final striping; staff said the goal is to finish major paving and striping by the end of spring break with remaining punch-list landscaping later.

Public-works staff reported progress on Baghdad Road and Collaborative Way (CIP T-71). Subgrade stabilization work (over 14 inches in places) is underway, traffic poles and mast arms are installed and signals have been bagged during construction. Staff said there had been no collisions since the last meeting but that police issued traffic stops (largely for speeding) and urged drivers to obey temporary speed limits in work zones.

Executive director of Public Works Ellison reported a planned drain and pipeline repair for the BCRUA water line was completed ahead of schedule; crews refilled the line and the city returned to once-a-week (phase 2) watering. Staff will continue system monitoring overnight and resume normal programmed watering moving forward.

Council thanked crews and public-works staff for long hours and communication with the public during construction and the water-line outage. No council action was taken; updates were informational.
