Vice President Leonard led a review of several policy revisions and a new complaint-process policy (policy 326) during the general policies committee meeting Jan. 13. Directors noted the new policy text in the packet and asked how the policy would be implemented and communicated.
District staff said the policy directs the superintendent to establish administrative procedures to facilitate equitable resolutions and to incorporate existing grievance and Title IX processes where applicable. Directors asked whether the policy would include whistleblower protections and whether complainants would be shielded from reprisals; staff said the superintendent dministrative procedures will address protections and recordkeeping.
Board members also asked that policies be posted on the district website in an accessible manner; staff noted policies are already online in the policy repository and that any new or revised policies would be posted once adopted. Directors requested training tied to the new complaint process to ensure consistent implementation and asked staff to identify which audiences will receive communications and training.
Ending: Staff said they would finalize the superintendent dministrative procedure to accompany policy 326, plan training and confirm where updated policies and related forms will appear on the district website.
