Greg Reynolds told trustees the district received three proposals and recommended Hoglund despite its mid-range price because most of the existing district fleet is Hoglund and local service availability reduces downtime and out-of-state repairs. Reynolds noted bus prices have increased compared with prior bids and that lead time is long — the district anticipates delivery in mid-2026 — but the district will secure the current price by approving the purchase now.
Trustees approved the award by voice vote. Board members thanked transportation staff and noted the operational importance of predictable service and parts availability for a large, aging fleet.
