York City SD seeks camera upgrades at McKinley, delays field turf and discusses Lindbergh building condition

A lengthy discussion followed about the Lindbergh building, raised under finance by Director Orr after a site visit to present attendance certificates. Board members described the building—xterior as deteriorated, with at least one boarded window. District staff reminded directors that the building is on the historic registry, which constrains replacement options, and said interim mitigation measures have included boarding windows and using plastic to reduce drafts. Staff said a full gut-and-renovate would cost in the range of $5—6 million and would require a relocation plan for staff. The district said it will prioritize Lindbergh in an upcoming plan developed with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) under the planned review.
