Mayor Herb Dobie presented his slate of appointments for items 1a through 1m and asked council to approve the full slate as presented. The nominations included reappointments to the airport board (Dave Arland, Mike Ritchie, John Otten and Randy Baugh, four‑year terms), an appointment of Lynette Strecker to the municipal electric joint powers board (three‑year term), and a range of committee assignments across city functions including streets, water, sewer, fire, IT, safety, wage and investment committees.
Dobie also nominated Dennis Kelly as mayor pro tem (term to expire Dec. 31, 2025) and asked Councilman Kelly to serve as chairman of the wage committee (term to expire Dec. 31, 2028). The mayor explained the airport appointments, the role of public works and the rationale for adding department heads to certain committees.
Councilman Diehl moved to approve the appointments as a slate; Councilman Victorin seconded and the motion carried with ayes and no recorded nays. The council noted the slate consolidated multiple routine reappointments that were due to expire and clarified it did not replace members whose terms were not up for reappointment.
