Will County committee adds community solar and microgrids to resilience language despite objections

Several members asked for technical input from emergency management (EMA) on whether community microgrids provide meaningful resilience benefits for medically vulnerable residents.
After discussion, the committee approved the language by a 3–2 margin. Staff will fold the text into the draft agenda and provide follow‑up information requested by members.
