The Wappingers Central School District Board of Education on July 1 approved several board member and administrator conference attendances, including:
- Approval for board member John S. Morgan to attend the Mid-Hudson School Study Council annual school law conference on Aug. 1, 2025 at Mount Saint Mary College, with registration at $135 per person (group rate) and allowable travel reimbursement per board policy.
- Approval for board member Cheryl Meggins and other interested members and administrators to attend the NISVS Summer Law Conference (live virtual) in August 2025 at a $210 member registration rate, with travel/reimbursement per policy where applicable.
- Approval for board members Peggy Kellen, Cheryl Meggins, and Marie Johnson (and possible others) to attend the NISVA annual convention and education expo in October 2025 in New York City, with specified member and nonmember registration fees and authorization for Peggy Callan to serve as the board's voting delegate.
Each item was moved, seconded and approved by the board.
Why it matters: These approvals authorize trustee professional development and designate a voting delegate for NISVA convention business; reimbursement will follow board travel policy.
