Superintendent Stenbeck presented a resolution under Minnesota statute permitting school boards to accept bequests, donations and gifts for district purposes. The board voted to accept $5,548 in monetary contributions itemized in the packet and several in-kind donations.
Monetary gifts included donations from the Columbia Heights Athletic Boosters, individuals giving to the Columbia Heights High School scholarship fund, and an anonymous donor for North Park School yearbook purchases. In-kind donations included 18 bikes donated by the Columbia Heights Police Department and the city, and 3D printing supplies valued at $500 for Columbia Heights High School CTE. The superintendent noted the district would seek a firm valuation for the bike donation to include on future acknowledgments.
The board conducted a roll-call vote and approved the resolution. District staff will post the formal resolution and update the donations ledger; packet materials listed the fiscal-year-to-date monetary contributions as $188,585.54.
