She also noted that the pool accessibility project’s original contract was about $6.5 million with cumulative change orders totaling approximately $731,000, and that some change orders were tied to COVID‑19 supply issues.
Public Works business manager Kelsey Kalua Lewis described the iWORKS work‑management system used by the highways division, noting it tracks work orders, GIS data, inventory, and field photo capture using iPads and supports emergency response. When asked about a public‑facing component, Lewis said she would "have to go back and check with them." She also said highways uses a condition‑rating tool (Manley) to rate county roads and uses the iPads to capture before/after photos for emergency reporting.
Motions to close files on communications 24.21 and 24.22 were carried and forwarded later in the agenda. Committee members asked departments to provide more detailed documentation on the swimming pool project’s multiple change orders and to monitor contract increases closely.
