Council takes multiple votes, postpones item 0.1 and records settlements and separations

The Los Angeles City Council on Nov. 5 managed agenda sequencing, took grouped votes on consent items, and recorded several formal outcomes.

The clerk and presiding officer opened the meeting by approving the Nov. 4 minutes and a motion to postpone item 0.1 to Dec. 10, 2025. The council agreed to move forward with votes on items 2–15, 17–27 and 31–32 for the current session.

Item 41 was read into the record by Councilmember Yaroshowski, who said the item was known and approved in the Finance Committee on Oct. 21 and recommended council approval of a settlement in the matter of "Kristen Light v. City of Los Angeles" with a stated maximum amount of $3,250,000. The clerk announced a recorded vote of 14 in favor during the discussion of item 41 as read in the public remarks.

The council opened the public comment list for items 33–36 and 38, then closed the list and the clerk announced a recorded vote of 15 in favor for those items. Item 16 (McArthur Park stormwater capture) was also recorded as 15 in favor.

Councilmembers requested separate votes on items 28, 29, 30 and 37. The clerk read a tally of "2 a favor, 3 en contra" for the separated votes during that sequence; the transcript records that one member later asked that their vote on item 37 be recorded as "yes," and the clerk noted that change would not affect the outcome.
