The Planning & Development committee set a Sept. 15 public hearing to consider an amended development plan for Wildwood Center South that would replace an existing Casa’s Barbecue building with a single‑story, 722‑square‑foot Southern Brew coffee drive‑through.
Applicant Wells Holiday of Southern Brew Corporation said the proposal is for a dual‑lane draft/drive‑through (no dine‑in) and presented a site plan showing the building oriented toward Lakeshore Parkway for visibility. Committee members discussed alternative orientations and whether the drive‑through stacking would be sufficient during peak hours; the applicant said the design allows more than 20 vehicles in the stack and staff showed the proposed site plan and survey used by the planning commission.
A motion to forward the amended development plan to a public hearing and to transmit the file to full council without a committee recommendation passed; the public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 15 at 6:00 p.m.
