Commissioners noted Beulah-area transfer station practices and that the new $50 rate would still be below many other counties.
Commissioner Jamie moved to increase the landfill fee to $50 per ton effective Jan. 1; Commissioner Casey seconded. The motion passed with recorded ayes.
The increase applies to general landfill tonnage; commissioners and staff said the county may consider a separate industrial rate later. No change to the effective date or the exact industrial fee structure was adopted at the meeting.
