District staff outline unified campus improvement plans and propose real-time trustee dashboard

"It's a lot of different plans, and in a lot of places, they do them all separately. But in NewCentral, it's 1 plan," Jonathan told the trustees while describing the Continuous Growth (RCG) approach that serves as the district's campus improvement plan and can function as a state-targeted improvement plan if required. He said the plan opens to a comprehensive needs assessment and then an improvement plan aligned to the district's community-based accountability pillars.
Staff used Salado as an example, showing how a campus ties a needs assessment into prioritized problem statements and then into goals, metrics and strategies. An example attendance goal shown in staff slides was 95.3 percent for the year; strategies included an attendance committee to establish incentives and regular checkpoints at 9 weeks, midyear and year end.
Proposed dashboard and reporting cadence: Staff proposed a compact dashboard on the board hub to show a snapshot of red/yellow/green progress against adopted goals so trustees can monitor progress without needing the full multi-page campus documents. "We're working on creating a data dashboard that we would include in the hub," staff said. The dashboard would include campus- and district-level progress indicators and would be updated throughout the year.
Next steps: Staff said they will prototype the dashboard and present it to trustees; they will continue to deliver the full campus improvement documents and periodic 9-week and midyear reports while the dashboard is developed.
Ending: Trustees asked for a concise snapshot and the ability to drill down; staff said the full documents will remain available and the dashboard will be an additional, outward-facing monitoring tool.
