City management told the council the city will implement a new online permitting platform and provided updates on parks grant work and upcoming events.
Staff said training is underway for MyGovernmentOnline, a permitting and inspection platform used by nearby cities. The system will support online permit applications, fee payments, contractor registration, inspection requests and status tracking; a launch date will be announced when implementation is complete.
The manager also reported the Parks Department secured a $750,000 Texas Parks & Wildlife grant for a new outdoor aquatic facility and had a recent meeting with the assigned grant administrator. Staff said they are completing required site survey and appraisal work and will submit those documents to TPWD; the next council action will be an interlocal agreement with Lockhart Independent School District for the site. An RFP for architectural/engineering design firms is expected to be issued with a selection planned by March 30.
Finally, staff announced spring events and services: Kid Fish is scheduled for a Saturday in March from 9 a.m. to noon at City Park Pond (no preregistration required), and Republic Services’ spring cleanup will occur in March with curbside bulk‑item collection for Lockhart residents (exclusions apply; details posted online).
