Commissioners approve SCADA and computer upgrades for county water system; authorizations include ARP funding

Public Works Director Robbie Seymour presented the final piece of the county's water system upgrade: replacement of the SCADA workstation that controls the computerized water system. The board approved the procurement.
Seymour described a vendor quote for the workstation rewrite and Wonderware licensing and asked the board to accept the quote and to transfer funds from ARP for the purchase. Commissioners voted to accept the quote and to authorize purchase of two computers — one operational unit and one spare for rapid replacement — with a separate motion to pay for the items from ARP funds where indicated.
The motions carried by voice vote. Staff will complete procurement and installation and update the board on implementation.
