Commissioners approve state-mandated PTSD coverage for first responders

The board approved participation in the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) Interlocal Risk Management Agency supplemental medical, accidental and disability fund for first responder PTSD coverage, following direction tied to House Bill 451.
Director Doss presented a quote from ACCG and told commissioners the premium for 12 months was $15,305. Commissioners moved to adopt the resolution authorizing participation and to approve payment from the general fund. The board recorded a unanimous voice vote in favor.
The action implements a state requirement passed this session and the county will document participation in its minutes as a matter of record.
