Delaware County reports 130 employees; commissioners approve monthly reports and claims list

Human Resources Director Vicki Cossairt reported July 1 that Delaware County employed 130 people. Since the previous week she said there were two new starts, two offers declined, one employee moving from full‑time to part‑time and one termination; she added the road districts still need employees. Cossairt wished employees working on the Fourth of July a happy holiday.
Following the HR update, the board unanimously approved monthly reports submitted by the Health Department, Treasurer and County Clerk. The commissioners also approved a bundled claims list covering multiple county funds (General, Health, Highway, Rural Fire, Sheriff funding and fairgrounds). The itemized claims list presented to the board included vendors and amounts for radios, office supplies, vehicle maintenance, highway equipment, inmate supplies and fairgrounds architectural services; the full claims documentation is on file with the County Clerk.
County leaders did not discuss changes to personnel policy or provide hiring timelines during the meeting.
