Staff briefed the executive committee on multiple digital-engagement changes intended to make member communications and public materials easier to find.
On Council Connect, staff asked members to follow posting tips—such as separating points with dashes or slashes—because current posts appear as long, unformatted text; staff has asked Granicus to "invert the structure" so the sender appears at the top of an email instead of buried at the bottom. Brian described a sidebar with a "helpful tips" link and explained that documents members want to reference in posts must be uploaded to SharePoint and then embedded in posts.
The office is also standardizing social handles and platform naming. Melanie said staff secured an appropriate Facebook handle and are awaiting confirmation from ITS and the public-records commission to add Blue Sky to regular postings. Chair Parker suggested using the nashville.gov domain as a verification method for Blue Sky accounts.
Separately, staff said the council website will be updated so each member has a single page that combines their photo, contact information, committee assignments and a district map, with a link to a district data dashboard.
Staff did not provide an exact launch date for the website changes or Blue Sky posting, and said ITS confirmation remains pending.
