Council office compiling public catalogue of more than 70 recurring reports

The Metro Council office is assembling a public-facing catalogue of recurring reports that staff said number "over 70," intended to show the source of the reporting requirement, the department responsible and links to online copies.
"There are over 70 of these reports," Margaret said during the executive-committee meeting, describing work to identify whether each report is required by ordinance, resolution or other source and to gather links to the reports on the council resources page.
Staff said the catalogue will not include one-off reports the council has requested over time; it will focus on recurring reports specified by authorizing sources and required to be posted online by a recently passed ordinance. The compilation will be circulated once by email and then maintained on the council resources web page.
The office gave the example of a general-services building-performance dashboard that is published online and was requested by council but is not technically a statutorily required report; such items will not be included in the recurring-reports catalogue. Staff did not provide a release date beyond noting the work is in progress.
