Major Valerie Calderon, representing the Salvation Army of McKinney, told the council that the Prosper mayoral team raised $2,206 in donations during the 2024 Mayor's Red Kettle Challenge and finished first among participating mayors.
Major Calderon said the team raised "$2,135 with 95¢" through bell ringing and "$70 with 5¢" through virtual donations, totaling $2,206. She thanked Mayor David F. Bridal, council members and town staff for supporting the campaign and said donations would be used to help neighbors in need.
The council also presented proclamations: Mayor David F. Bridal proclaimed a week in February 2025 as Prosper Engineering Club Week to recognize student STEM and robotics efforts, and later proclaimed March 2025 to raise awareness of theater education and honor the Prosper ISD Thespian Troupe.
These items were presented as community recognitions during the meeting and did not require council action beyond acceptance of the certificates and proclamations.
