The South Lyon City Council voted to adopt revised fees for cemetery plots, columbarium niches and related open-and-closing charges.
Staff told the council the city purchased a columbarium earlier in the year and expects delivery within weeks. Because the cemetery did not previously offer niches, staff recommended establishing resident and nonresident fees for niche purchase and for interment services; staff said current single-plot capacity and niche capacities (one burial and one cremation, or four individual cremations for a single plot; niches accommodate up to two cremations) were taken into account.
Council member Bogart moved to approve the attached fee schedule, and Council member Hansen seconded. City Clerk Deaton conducted a roll-call vote; all members voted yes and the motion carried.
Staff included a fee-comparison table in the meeting materials showing South Lyons prior rates and proposed changes in bold.
