South Lyon schedules Nov. 10 CDBG public hearing as $30,000 application moves forward

The South Lyon City Council voted to schedule a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, to solicit public comment on the citys 2026 Community Development Block Grant application.
Council member Hanson moved to schedule the hearing, which passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes. City staff told the council the city plans to apply for $30,000 in CDBG funds through Oakland County; the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development application deadline is Friday, Dec. 5, 2025.
The hearing notice and an area-wide benefit map will be published in a local newspaper to allow public input on how the city should allocate any award. Materials attached to the meeting packet included the public-hearing notice and a map showing eligible areas.
No substantive amendments were made to the request at the meeting. The motion to schedule the public hearing was recorded by City Clerk Deaton and carried on a roll-call vote.
