Beaverton council dissolves two township coop agreements, approves downtown bike racks and sidewalk sales

The Beaverton City Council on May 19 adopted two resolutions to end urban cooperative agreements with neighboring townships and approved several downtown and financial actions.
By roll call vote the council adopted Resolution 2025-15 to dissolve the urban cooperative agreement with Beaverton Township (motion: Jennifer Harper; second: Tiffany Burgess). The council also adopted Resolution 2025-16 to dissolve the urban cooperative agreement with Tobacco Township (motion: Tiffany Burgess; second: Nellie List). Both resolutions were adopted with all members present voting yes; Councilor Nila Frei was absent.
Council approved purchase of four bike racks from Ray's Bike Shop at $125 each to place downtown (motion: Jennifer Harper; second: Tiffany Burgess). The council also approved a sidewalk-sales program to allow vendors to operate one Saturday per month from May through September between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. (motion: Tiffany Burgess; second: Nellie List). The motions carried unanimously among members present.
Under Ways & Means the council approved bills for April 2025: accounts payable totaling $543,094.18 (motion: Jennifer Harper; second: Tiffany Burgess). The motion carried with all voting aye.
