Commissioners honor Commissioner Vidrickson at final meeting; swearing-in set for next week

The Saline County Board of Commissioners used part of its Jan. 7 meeting to recognize Commissioner Vidrickson’s eight years of service.
Several commissioners praised Vidrickson for leadership and improved relations between the county and the City of Salina. One commissioner said the county is "light years ahead" from eight years earlier because of Vidrickson’s leadership and counsel. Vidrickson, who said he was "kinda choked up," thanked department heads, administration and staff "for their cooperation, understanding" and singled out his wife: "Most of all, I wanna thank my wife, Kathy. She's been my rock."
The board announced a swearing-in ceremony in the commission chamber at 10:30 a.m. next Monday for a new commissioner, the re-swearing in of some elected officials and the swearing in of a new county attorney. The chair invited the public to attend.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed 4-0.
