Sierra Vista Rotary outlines daylong Fourth of July program, warns of parking and fireworks restrictions

Randy Siskind, representing the Sierra Vista Rotary Club, outlined a full day of July 4 programming that culminates in a volunteer-run fireworks display described by organizers as among the largest in the state.

The schedule includes morning and afternoon community programming at Veterans Memorial Park (including a Pets and People Promenade, color guard, youth performances and a narrated 50-state cannon salute), a Fort Huachuca presence and an F-16 flyover. Siskind said the band Soul Medicine will play at 7 p.m., and organizers expect to make the fireworks visible from the park at about 8:15 p.m.; they will also run a ground show at the Stone Sports Complex.

Siskind emphasized logistics and public-safety rules: law enforcement will patrol the bypass and parking is prohibited there during the fireworks; no fireworks are allowed on public lands including the Stone Sports Complex; sparklers were explicitly discouraged; and only gas grills (no charcoal) are permitted at Stone Sports Complex. He asked attendees to follow traffic-direction signage and law-enforcement instructions when leaving.

The Sierra Vista Rotary Club organizes the event in partnership with the City of Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca and funds the fireworks largely through sponsorships. Siskind named Vinny—s New York Pizza as the event—s Titanium sponsor and listed additional supporting sponsors and civic groups who helped fund the display.

Organizers described the pyrotechnic crew as long-serving volunteers who are certified annually; Siskind said the crew has shot the show for 15-plus years and that the grand finale is a major feature. The club said the fireworks will proceed rain or shine and asked the public to enjoy the event while following posted safety directions.
