Huachuca City schedules free July 4 family event at Leffingwell Park; pool open with summer hours

Stephanie Fulton, director of library and community services for the Town of Huachuca City, said the town's Fourth of July celebration will begin at 4 p.m. at Leffingwell Park, directly behind town hall, the police station and the fire station.
The celebration will feature a color guard, a live local band from 4 to 8 p.m., games and prizes, rock painting hosted by the library, pie-eating contests for adults and children, cake walks, a free raffle, free food donated by local organizations, and a fireworks display at dusk. Fulton said the event is free and open to all.
Fulton also gave pool hours for July and August: in July the pool is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m.; in August the pool shifts to Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. She advised checking the library or town Facebook pages or calling the pool number for weather-related closures.
"We have so much arranged," Fulton said, noting volunteers, council members and town staff will help run the event. "It really is amazing."
