Commission adopts temporary 45 mph speed zone on Douglas Road (Plummer to Allen County line)

Neosho County commissioners adopted Resolution R25C to establish a temporary 45 miles-per-hour speed zone on North Plummer (Douglas Road) from 0.3 miles north of Ashgrove Road to the Allen County line.
Road & Bridge staff presented the old 2016 resolution and told the commission they had ordered new signs; staff said signs should arrive in about a week to 10 days and will be installed as soon as they are available. The motion to adopt the temporary reduction passed by voice vote (“All in favor. Aye. Motion passes.”).
Staff said the temporary measure responds to resident complaints about speeding and that the county will reassess the speed zone as needed. The resolution will be numbered and filed as R25C.
No enforcement or police staffing changes were adopted at the meeting; the action was limited to the temporary speed-zone resolution and sign installation.
