Board adopts 2026–27 traditional calendar after debate over Yom Kippur and teacher workdays

The motion to swap that date failed on a tie vote. The board then voted 6–0 to approve the calendar committee’s recommended draft B.
Dr. Hamilton confirmed that the district will continue to approve excused absences for bona fide religious observances under existing procedures, and staff committed to publish the calendar timeline and provide the community with details on instructional minutes used to calculate the 10 25 rule.
