Facilities staff provided a slide‑by‑slide update on capital projects underway across the district, including recently completed work, in‑progress renovations and items scheduled for bid in 2025.
Bill and Tom summarized 2023 capital projects (phase 1 and phase 2): completed tennis courts, track resurfacing (mill‑and‑overlay briefly delayed by equipment repairs), extensive science classroom renovations with new counters, sinks and gas fixtures, vestibule and secure‑entry installations, and ceilings/lighting replacements at multiple elementary buildings. The middle/high school pool received a new filter and an additional pool heater; staff are coordinating utility work and plan to use both gas‑fired heaters and heat‑exchanger connections to the boiler system. The Montgomery Elementary roof, skylights and copper gutters were in place and final finishes were being completed. The team said the work required an intense summer schedule and thanked custodial and maintenance staff for extra effort.
Board members asked who would be responsible for returning furniture and materials when phased construction finishes; staff said custodians, contractors’ final cleaning crews and district staff will coordinate all moves and set‑up. Facilities staff said some 2025 items (window lintels, cafeteria air conditioning, water tanks, floor replacements) will be publicly bid in coming months.
