Platte County approves electronic bond-processing contract; company to add $10 fee per bond

The Platte County Commission on July 21 approved county order 2025CO105 to authorize a contract with GenCore Candeo Limited (doing business as Genesis eBonds) to move the jail—s bond processing to an electronic platform.
Sheriff Eric Holland presented the proposal and described the change as "a course changing" move to reduce paperwork and reduce cash transactions at the jail. "They will remove the necessity of a lot of cash changing hands. It will allow for immediate transmittal of bonding documents to the courts," Holland said, noting the system also creates electronic evidence that a person received bond terms and conditions.
Holland said there is no budget impact to the county for the contract. Instead, the company adds a $10 fee to each bond to cover its service. The sheriff—s office said it will provide training and notification to local bonding agents before the system goes live and that the courts have been notified of the planned change.
The commission moved and seconded the order and approved it by roll call, 3-0.
